Happy birthday to our graduate teacher training program, now entering its 25th year! In a quarter of a century we have trained over 800 teachers in Minnesota. Thank you to each of our current and former learners for helping to make a dynamic alumni, changing lives and touching hearts of K-12 students. With the celebration came a name change, from the M.A. in Instruction to the M.A. in Teaching, to better reflect our students’ goals.

The teacher training program has grown over the years to include 15 license areas, as well as four more licenses in the M.A. in Special Education and M.A. in English as a Second Language programs launched as expansions in 2006 and 2012 respectively.

Featuring offerings at two locations, M.A. in Teaching holds classes at both the Minneapolis campus for working professionals and Winona campus for accelerated coursework. Entering freshmen to the undergraduate college have the option to participate in a 4+1 path to earn their bachelor’s and master’s degree while training to teach.
