Mike Floersch, a teacher at Rosemount High School and a course-contracted faculty member at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota, has been named one of the four finalists in Minnesota for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST).

PAEMST was established by Congress in 1983 and is considered to be the highest honors bestowed by the United States government for K-12 mathematics and science teaching.

This summer the four PAEMST finalists will be featured at the Minnesota State Fair. In January, one finalist from Minnesota will be selected to attend a conference in Washington, D.C., and receive a $10,000 award.
